Both in the 80's I think, both "docu-dramas".

Movie#1 - A terrorist group has kidnapped a scientist and is holding him on a ship in Savannah Ga harbor. Done like a CNN kinda thing. By the end of the movie the ship is stormed by police and they find a nuclear bomb...which goes off.

Movie#2 - Another "CNN" style docu-drama reporting on the events leading up to WWIII. In one scene a reporter is on a CV in the Indian ocean which has used an underwater tactical nuke to "rid itself" of a Soviet sub that was shadowing the fleet. In retaliation the Soviets nuke the Task group while the reporter is on the air making his report.

Anyone besides me remember these movies?

I remember both movies. They were "made for TV" movies, by FOX I believe. Gimme a bit and I'll find the titles.

"Countdown to looking glass" was the other.

Saw it on HBO Original I believe

I saw it on Amazon I think.....Google it...youll find it
