This goes back to common sense here. Obviously if your in the desert you'll be wearing DCUs. There is no uniform that can cover all spectrums with a flick of a switch. It's just not gonna happen anytime soon.

If you really wanna get anal who gives a watermelon about the color. IR and thermal imaging scopes would give you away in a heart beat anyway. To make it even more anal the fact you iron your uniform everyday or every other day will make you stand out at night due to the fibers that have been burnt and are now reflecting light even more than normal. So why is it no one has *****ed about ironing their uniforms? Or about polishing their boots to a nice prestine shine? What about the use of glasses which reflect light and give up your position? Or reflective belts as Gunslinger has said?

I'm sure we could name alot more things that could screw up your camo. Unless you plan on making a guille suit for everywhere you go nothing is gonna cut it.

My biggest pet peeve isn't with the color. How about the put the damned rank insignia back on the sleeves of the BDUs like they have on the Class A's?

So all that fancy camouflage, yet the Air Force flys. OMFG! a flying bush!! They need to dress like clouds, and parakeets, and things like that if they really want camo.

I already deploy with 3 uniforms, because the USAF recently banned civilian clothing for off-duty wear while deployed. I don't need/want another garrison uniform. If all they want to do is make a garrison uniform, make my normal blues uniform more comfy, or come up with a non-camo patterned garrison utility that isn't blue.

well said. Why come up with yet ANOTHER uniform if we deploy in a combat one. If they want to develop a purly garison uniform why not just make it a solid color like blue or green.

That strikes me as really funny, Pooh21. Optical stealth. However, all Air Force people would insist on being either eagles or falcons.

Actually, futuristically speaking, thread reminds me of that Schwartzenegger (sp) flick chasing alien that blended in with its environment, the ultimate chameleon. Thought I read something about real-life research into similar reflection camouflage. Seems like the ultimate blending.
