I think I'm done. No really. All the way done.

Too late for screenshots, just going to put the uncompressed BMP in for a look.

Hard to say without seeing a screenshot of the plane...

But I dont necessary agree with Chimp. The tail doesnt become as dirty as the underside of the wings. But it *could* be to white.. need to see it "in action" to decide...

Okay I've dimmed the white slightly with a low opacity layer of grey over the top of it.

However I totally SUCK at wing scratches. I admit they look butt-ugly. Any suggestions on that?

EDIT: Wing scratches in-game (that's not the final skin, old screenshot, but the scratches have not changed since then)

To do paint chips, he's saying to take a 1 pixel airbrush in light grey and make the paint chips. Make them a little larger than you actually want. Afterwards, use a low opacity eraser and erase around the edges.

That's what I did for paint chips. THAT part looks okay, if I do say so myself. What looks horrible is the scuffed paint by the foot-traffic areas.

Ahh, that.  Id do the same thing as the chips, but make it bigger.  Take out larger chunks on the wingroot there and then use the eraser.

But the problem is that most LW planes dont' have bare metal showing even in that area. Not like a P40 or anything. They were well maintained and kept clean and painted. So it's a trick trying to get scuffs but not wholesale paint loss.

Know what? Screw it, "These aren't the scuffmarks you're looking for" *waves fingers*

Viola! No more problem :) Scuffs removed! It's been cleaned and repainted recently. Maybe just a bit of paint discoloration, eh? As if it has been touched up.

Why don't u use 20px brush light gray color and paint there make the paint look wore not chipped off. Err forgot make the flow really low.

Why not take a low opacity eraser and fade out some of the colors.  Its still there, but faded moreso than other parts.

looks nice......

the "paint" chips like too much like a pencil line, and the pilot only got in on the lfet side....

like i mentioned in too many posts to list, on the top of the wings in pictures 3 feet away almost no rivets are visible... i think many make the rivet lines too strong and too many.. thats just my opinion.

it is a greta job on the red stripes

the cowlo, if i got hammered for not enought dirt well LOL, with the stretching it is too hard to make "realistic" gun dirt residue

sir
I don't know what to put here yet.

Yes JB, I do recall your posts on the rivets. In fact throughout this project the rivets were turned off. I wanted to see what could be done without them. So instead of having the rivets on I took both rivet layers and blurred the crapola out of them and then changed their opacity (giving the discolored areas, which I'm not entirely keen on, but they add *something* to the skin)
