Some PETA nutjob goes undercover at a chicken processing plant and manages to stir up and then film some of the employees kicking live birds. Then they mercilessly pester the county prosecutor to charge them with animal cruelty.
Direct quote from Hardy County, W. VA Special Prosecutor Ginny Conley:
"In fact, if anything, the harassment I received from PETA was very intrusive on me performing my duties as prosecutor," said Conley. "However, after I gained the additional information I received, I felt it at least warranted presentation to the citizens of Hardy County."
She wouldn't describe the additional evidence, but said some of it came from PETA.
PETA got their Grand Jury. Not one single indictment was handed down. Guess the folks in the jury weren't quite as dumb as the PETA folks hoped.
