Big claws - very little poison, small claws - LOTS of posion, the venom is protein based and is effected by heat - soooo if you get stung immerse the afflicted item in ....wait for it, boiling water, this will reduce the effectiveness of the venom - apparently in some cases the sting is so painful you don't notice the boiling water.
Killing insects can be done by spraying them with a strong detergent - apparently they have a waxy surface on their bodies which when removed by detergent kills them.
I'm not sure if these are true however experimental analysis should offer results - let us know how it turns out.
