Unlike the Lancaster, the B-24 has .50s that pack a much more lethal punch.

"Get in close..." Yeah, good luck with that against a B-24 in a high-speed chase. And then there are the long-reach .50s to deal with once you get in guns range.

"Wait for the wing to burn off..." A burning bomber can drop a full load right on target. Now, if a burning bomber had a slower airspeed and screwed up a run, then that'd be something, but as it is now...

They may light up easy..but you have to be careful because they will tear you a new one. So far this campaign Ive got 44 kills and like 40 deaths in them. Doesnt seem very good, but when you are talking tail guns vs a killing machine a fighter is..it aint too shabby

isnt there a checklist for an engine on fire? that luftwaffe guy seems eager to bail lol..oh and hes gonna get a nasty smak from that tail, is his foot on the stick? whats the signifigance of the gear coming down?

Oddly enough, I seem to be doing a LOT better against the B-24 now than the B-17. If I can kill them, anyone can.

I agree, they are fast, they are tough, and I've always felt that bomber guns were a little too accurate and deadly for "balance'' of gameplay vs. reality.

However, I also agree that if you hit them from above and go for the wing root they'll burn like a Zeke.

The key is being patient enough to make a good attack where you hold the advantages, and not make the attack if you don't.
Just like anything else, maybe more so, if you attack without sufficient advantage, expect to fail.

I'd kill a LOT more of them if I flew a bird with cannons and was able to remain patient. As it is, with one cannon and 4 50's, and being a big target, I am far too impatient.

I don't think the B-24 qualifies as a perk plane, even though I don't REALLY like attacking bombers, and I often feel forced to defend against them and attack at a great risk, if I want to keep the FH up.

he plans on having his plane land on its own. Its a new feature that will come soon for Aces High. Just like we have auto take off, we'll soon have Auto Landing.

Bring the RAF P51 ( NA-91) which is a Mustang 1, 1A (20mm hispanos) which both entered service in May 1941 for the RAF, and II. The p51-c with bulged hood is a Mustang III. D model is mustang IV

Very few RAF 20mm armed 51s. Most had 2 50s under the nose firing through the prop and 6 303s in the wings.

B/C is the Mustang III
D/K is the Mustang IV RAF got large number of Dallas built K models

Definately wouldn't mind a Malcom hooded Mustang though.

There was 150 of the 1A's made with 20mm's.

Of which 93 went to the RAF to go with the 620 Mustang Is that were armed with 2 50 cals and 6 303s.

Definately not the primary RAF Allison Mustang

57 of that 150 went to the USAAF
