Cant read map
« on: June 14, 2005, 03:43:27 AM »
Last night I came out of the hanger upped my plane and went to check my map.

Everything was just one big mess of color. Cant make out type of field or field name. I took a screen of it but dont have anywhere to host it.

Anyway is there a way to the map readable again without exiting the sim?

Does this happen to anyone else?

Thanks

did you try using the insert and delete keys to zoom the map in and out?

Also make sure you haven't zoomed yr view - default is the z key (I think)

No thats not it. The map was fine all night long up untill around 1am when all of a sudden everything was all jumbled together.
It would be like taking the normal world view and trying to put everything on a map that was small than required. Everything was just "Pushed " all together.

Wish I could post this screen shot.

No big deal after I exit the sim I was ok.
Just wondering if it was open and closing the map so much.

Did you open any of the base maps or anything else on the clipboard?  When I do that it zooms out until the entire map fits in the clipboard area no matter how big the map is.

Yes I had been checking a field map when it happened.

So how do I get it back so I can read it?

When you open a field-level map it seems to zoom out the normal map to max so when you close the field-map you end up with the 900K ft view of the map (everything is just a clump of icons).  Use the +/- on the clipboard to change zoom.  Be aware that one mouse button (left I think) will zoom the whole clipboard in/out while the other will only zoom the contents inside the clipboard (and that is what you want).

Try that.

or as was allready suggested, just hit insert / delete to zoom the map back to where you like it.

Don't use the "view" Zoom Keys ... [  and ]

use the Insert and Delete Keys to zoom the map in and out.

A bit off topic, but, in all the years that I've had internet, and that's back when it started, every ISP I've ever had provides a certain amount of web space so that it's customers can have a cute little home page.
What you're saying is, your ISP gives you nothing but a connection for the money you give them every month.
In the old days it was just a a meg or two, now most give you as much as 10 megs or more for a web space. You should check out your ISP's site and see if you are in fact entitled to some web space... that's where you host pictures, forget making an actual web page, just use the link to show  pics :)
