"Well, I never!" ok "so I have" - have you?
« on: June 16, 2005, 02:06:17 PM »
Have you ever , been in a dog fight and your thinking it turned out to be probley one of  your best fights as of lately-  but you forgot to film it, wishing you had?  Hate that!

Have you ever,  had several kills under your belt, on your way back to base to land'm and see a con and  you just "had" to engage when you really "didnt have or need to" because you were outa there range and went to them and died by getting shot down or worst crashing?  Hate that!.

Have you ever,  Had kills under that belt again, OTW back to land them, See a fellow countryman in trouble,  Against your better judgement you went down to help and clear there 6 and look around only to see the guy you helped  has left the building and now your in deep watermelon fighting his fight, thinking all the time "hes comming back I just know it", He aint!!   Hate that!

Have you ever,  Upped a Goon because you hear  500 people at the base screaming for one, only to get there and all 500 people are gone by RTB'n or dieing, and there you are, after flying 2 sectors in a gunnless c47 and your by yourself, seeing 20 la7'z headed your way?   Hate that!

Have you ever,  Joined a mission, waited in the tower 20 minutes for it to launch,  only to have noone else join so the mission maker cancels it because noone else joined,  then hear how your squadies and others just had the best vulchfest ever at the base the mission was headed to?   Hate that!

Have you ever,  Saved several people from death by clearing there 6 , only to find yourself being chased by 5 planes wanting to kill you, and now your needing the same help you just supplied to others, asking for that help on range channel,  only to be talked over by someone discussing  there weekend , drownding out your plea to be saved from certin death?!  Hate that!

Have you got any "hate that" situations?  LMAO!!!!!

just last night i was RTB with kills, bingo ammo (well i had 150 teensy MG rounds in my 190d9, no cannon) and on vapors. i was RPM and throttle back to E6B max cruise, with less than 1/8 of a tank of gas in my forward tank.

in comes an f4u to pork troops or something. there were 10 other cons around, but a quick check non were in position to give chase, or in a plane fast enough.

i "inned" picking a point after his bomb drop to meet him, and timed it perfectly. i chased him to about 6-8 miles away from the base before i got him to break, and put as many MG's into his right wing as possible. he than got an escape route, and i headed back to base almost a glider.

a friendly la7 chased hime down, and i got the kill right as my engine quit from no gas.

glided the last mile and landed successfully ; )
I don't know what to put here yet.

........heard your squaddies hollering on voice that they needed someone to bring an M3 to a base to finish off the capture...
.......hopped into an M3 immediately.............
.......driven what seemed like an eternity to get to the base, constantly giving your position to your buds, hearing them count down the time til the base acks come back up........
.......driven clear across the base, the engine screamin, the wind in your hair(virtual, that is).........
.......pulled up in front of the map room, opened the door.........
.......hit "B" to kick out the troops....................... ....
.......let out a triumphant yell of victory..................
.......only to hear Lizard3 (your squaddie) say.......................

I never "volunteered" for another goon or M3 mission....mistakes like that haunt you for your entire AH lifetime.........LOL!

No, but I did one night before last where I forgot to load anything.  I got there, snuck onto the defended base while the ack was down, drove right up to the map room, and realized I had nothing loaded.

DOH!

Upped your first 262 ever, flown around WAY too high (10K +) noticed an enemy goon dropping troops over your town, dove in to kill the troops but don't know to cut throttle when diving in a jet only to compress at 600+ mph, wings rip off as you break the sound barrier while passing the troops killing none, only to crash into the mountain behind the town in a fiery blazy of utter dweebness.

Or...

Upping with a couple guys all at one time in 262s:  You and your buddy are waiting on the runway to takeoff, your buddy is directly in front of you as you sit and wait for the third guy to show up on the runway.  While you are sitting there pondering life's little mysteries, with your hand still on the joystick, you move, accidentally hit the fire button unleashing a 3 shot 30mm burst into the back of your buddy's plane sending you to the tower.

Fantastic  :D

You let him. enme wins again he says cmon down you say O.K. time your merge well... think to yourself  YEESssssss finally a chance to prove to myself I am getting better.... You getinto a loop fest but you are all nervous... make a wrong move but you think you can recover.. push it and end up dragging across the ground. cause you ran out of E....

I hated that:mad:

Greebo was cool about it though and did not kill me, as I sat on the water ucussing

Why didnt i run  film!

Here I am above a knit field casually bnzing a spit9, a nik, and a
la7.   Along comes a Typh higher than me.  I set up the verticle merge on
the Typh and suck him right into the reversal.  3 seconds after the merge
Im knocking his left alieron off.  I glance to the left readying for
another burst, and see the spit9 is 2 seconds out of gun range.

I unload my stick superhard, and look to the spit9 600...400...damit.  I
panic dive my PJ at a hard angle at the deck reaching for the trim
tabs.  For some reason the spit backs off, but as I trim myself to the deck
I see all four in pursuit.  The Typh is closing, but of course the La7 is
closing even faster.  I continue at tree top level watching the La7 close
1000...800...600.  Time for the classic overshoot maneuver.  I watch the
tracers flying behind my tail as both the La7 and the Typh overshoot.  I
roll out trailing both the Typh and La.  The Typh straightens out, the La
starts a climbing turn.  I follow the La, while I hear the spit9 buzz by
unable to follow the turn.   Still trailing the La I see the spit loop over
for another pass.  I tighten my turn and take it down at a 45 deg angle,
then reverse my turn at 120 degree.  The spit realizes too late I "gave"
him a shot on me that leads into the ground *crash* #1.  Fortunately the
turn I made gave me a glimps of the Typh comming in for a pass.  I try to
give him an auger shot,  he doesnt bite, but the La7 that has now turned to
face me does.  And I watch him invert while passing over me looking for a
shot *boom* #2.  The Nik now seeing that the situation isnt in hand by the
other 3 decides to make a pass.

As it worked out, I had both the 2 survivors on the same side of me, and
I set up the classic overshoot again.  It works again.  I pick up position
on the nik as the typh extends for another pass.  I easily keep position on
the nik for 4 passes by the typh.  On the typhs 5th pass I have to drop
pursuit on the nik to evade.  After evading I flap up and go straight to
pick up speed.  I look back to see the Typh holding steady at 600yds with
the nik 200 behind him.  After a few seconds of making sure that I am in
fact screwed and in fact cannot get any distance on the Typh. [sigh]  Again
I pull the classic overshoot.  Again as im watching 8 20mms fly behind my
tail, IT WORKS!  I pick up the Nik on the way out, after 2 revolutions I
pull a lead and saw his left wing off *crash*#3, and quickly pull the
evasive turn to the deck, as the Typh tries again.  Completing my "S"
shaped turn, I come out 600 behind the Typh.   I raise flaps expecting him
to run,  He turns, and I lag behind him still expecting the run. Repeat
again as I nose around on him.  I figure out he wants to run but wont
chance it with me that close.  This time on the other end, I lower flaps
expecting another turn to the right.  Pull the lead....Off flies his left
wing, then he explodes *boom* #4.

I swivel my head around a couple times and Im clear.
Murdr:200: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA
Murdr:200: 4v1 and I win!!!!
The Nik pilot compliments me on the radio on my handling of the 38, and a
few minutes later after my landed message posts.
Nik pilot:479th....I should have known.
