This guy Snipr put together a command engine thing here which I think you'll like.
This zip has two missions one you put in your regular missions folder the other in your user_missions for the editor.
For the sample mission you command 4 squads -grin- Plus when you reach your objective, you get replacements of two more squads
.
Also he included a very good artillary script.
Whats great is he added the second mission (same one) but for the editor. You can see exactly how he connected all the scripts.
A well written tutoral is included.
