I'd say the Bf109F-4, Bf109G-2, Fw190A-5 and Ki-61 are all good matches.

Assuming the 38G pilot was smart and never tried to fight the Zeke horizontal, the 38G was superior. Better E retention, better in the vertical, and just plain faster.
As soon as the 38G slowed down, though, the Zeke could eat him for lunch.

What superdud said.
ki-84

They are well balanced both speed & turn wise. Comes down to the pilot as it should.

I think the Tony would make a good match for the 38G.  The Tony would eat the 38 for lunch, but it would be a good fight.  The 109F would probably be more of a workout (for the 109 pilot).  Hard to get a good guns solution that makes use of the 109s guns to turn those opportunities into kills.  As long as the 38 driver didnt run away a zero would destroy it.  Please.  Like a pig like that could ever wallow its way through a fight with a nimble killing machine like a zero?  Course, it would take me 20 minutes of picking away at nonvital areas of that armored behemoth with the BB guns on the A6M2 before I could do enough damage for a kill, but the zero flys so sweet you'd barely break a sweat avoiding whatever feeble attempts at attack the 38 might make.  I would imagine the 202 would be a good workout as well, as its a bit better handling than the 109, but the guns pack even less of  a punch.  Dunno, I dont fly the 202 much.

202 v. 38G is a great fight, with the edge going to the 202.

Ki-67 = Peggy

Which is funny (to me) because the Japanese name is the Hiryu, which means "Dragon Slayer".  The only woman I ever knew named Peggy was large, round, and a real dragon in her own right.

At the start of WW2 we didnt know the actual names of the fighters (like A6M2, KI-43, etc.). And if someone called out "Nakagima 3:00 high" the pilots didnt really know if it was a bomber or fighter.
They gave girl names to the Japanese bombers (Betty, Val, Kate) and boy names for the fighters (Oscar, Frank, Tony)
