Help me, please!

If you flew in the Coral Sea Scenario and shot film, I'd LOVE to get a copy. I am doing a fun film project that I want to be non-team biased, but I am lacking footage. I have film from Team Alpha Torp pilots and Scouts.

What I really need is some Team Zulu footage (all planes) and Team Alpha Fighter and Dive Bomber film.

If you are like me and have TONS of film, the dates I am looking for are 4/9, 4/16, 4/30, and 5/7.

If you have, or think you might have, the films, please contact me at damnedwind@hotmail.com with the number of films you have and their sizes (I need to determine where you should send or upload them).

Wind, have you sent e-mail directly to any likely candidates (selected pilots)?

Here are all the fighter and dive-bomber pilots on Team Alpha. If you don't know any of them, you could probably still search on some of the names to find a bulletin-board post, then use the "profile" button to send that person an e-mail.

Thanks, Brooke!

I was kinda hoping that a simple post on this forum would bring out the folk with the films. To be honest, I don't want to badger people for them. I want people to want to give them to me.

If I don't get more films, I'll just have to change my concept a little.

The unfortunate thing about this is so many "other" planes in the films I do have, show the bugginess of the viewer. Things like propellers not spinning, landing gear down, and water wakes not showing ruin MANY shots/views I really like from the films I do have.

I need more points of perspective.

If anyone reading this can dig up their Coral Sea scenario films, I'd appreciate getting my hands on them. A quick e-mail to my damnedwind@hotmail.com address would be appreciated. I'll send back instructions on where to upload them.

Wind, a lot of folks who are more than happy to contribute films to such projects won't necessarily find your topic here. People generally don't mind an e-mail inquiry for films at all. At worst, if they don't have anything or aren't interested, they won't reply to your e-mail query. You should just go for it and e-mail folks and ask them for what you want. I do that from time to time and have never had a problem or a complaint.

Also, the folks I gave specific suggestions for are folks I think would be more likely to have films and be willing to send them to you.

Also, with respect to film anomolies, there are a lot. The film viewer is unfortunately very buggy. Sometimes, to get ships to appear or wakes to appear, you have to run the film from long enough in advance of the segment you are trying to capture. Same for bomb damage. You can run the film at fast speed to get there, but sometimes you can't move the slider to get there or carve out a segment of the film too tightly around the thing you are interested in.

Understatement, but one we can overlook if other improvements are being made.

As I was going through one of my CS films I was sending to Wind, I found a spot where I was filming the entire squad landing on the Lexington. I'm pretty sure I was in a gun watching them come in. Either way, the film shows me in an SBD, hovering at deck height as everyone flies by and landing on the CV which is steaming out of sight as I just float there
