Second - YOU didn't kick anyone's ass. NA riding Russian armour did.
Third - USSR didn't want to "kick Afghan's ass". They needed peace and stability, and they have succeeded. Withdrawal was a result of Western pressure and bold treason from Gorby. Look what happened there after 40th Army left and Gorby left the legal government without any assistance.
Fourth: why do you think we had to kick someone's ass? What for? Are we supposed to do so because TV told you so in the last 50 years or it is just a "civilized" way to solve problems? Have a problem - just find someone to kick his ass?
