Gentlemen,
I am returning to the game after a year off and have a question about video cards. will an nvidia 6600gt 128mb ram give decent frame rates. cpu is athlon 64 3500 with 1 gig ram. what drivers are best to use? thanks for any help.

yes that combo should work fine.  i have a AMD64 3200 and had it paired with  2 6600s in SLI. but also tried it in single card mode.

 single card u should 30s to 40s runway, and 80 to 130  flying alone, and maybe 60s furball.

drivers, depends  on if u dont mine useing beta versions. if u do, id use latest from nvidia.com. if not, guru3d.com and use the latest beta release for nvidias.

im currently using the beta drivers put out in battlefield2.

Personally, I'd recommend the current Omega drivers.  Proven stable, works with your card, and no worrys.  Install it and go.  Official Nvidia drivers have had problems from time to time, and until you are sure of a stable base to start with, I wouldnt go experimenting with betas.  Make sure you have a good, stable driver first.  Then you can play with others to see if you get improvements.
