pakistan=ally ?
« on: June 20, 2005, 04:10:23 AM »
Well if we will have a look on US effort to spread democracy we will find some odd facts.

I were whinning in the past about US support to most of middle easter theocratic and dictatorships. It didnt take long to prove, that the only one interest in ME are money.

Lets have a look on Pakistan. It is run by ditator for quite long time, yet it is key ally of US according to Us official statemnt.
Because mr. Musharaff is good friend, this dictator were also revarded by permition to buy obsolete F-16s.

here is interesting article from contemporary pakistan.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/4103556.stm

Just simple question is there anything else on US's "Pakistan to do" list  that selling weapons and make bussines [i didnt spot anything else] ?

Do you mind, that your goverment allow to sell weapons to dictator ?

The F16's are not obsolete at all, but I cant imagine that the F16 production line will last for very much longer. The countries that are starting to look for new planes _now_ and within the next few years will prolly look for the next generation.

Hmmm.

I thought Pakistan had F-16s in the 80s, when their leader was... hmmm... another general IIRC, Ziya Ulkhak?

At least as I remember, colonel Rutskoy's Su-25 was shot by a Pakistani F-16. They later showed him the recovered Su-25's cockpit, it was like a hedgehog with rods from an air-to-air missile...

But some 1/4 of those F16's are out of order now, some period of time they were lack of service parts ... yet they still wanna buy F16 :D

I expected yes i do .. or no i dont.
Use search button if you would like to know my homeland. You can find it in every 3rd post.
Its quite common here that when somebody run out of options, he ask for my country, origin and other things, whitch are not realated to discusion.

Since im terrorist lover, bush hater, commie bastige, you probably dont have to waste your time by searching of useless information.

Pakistan ordered F16s about 15 years ago from the US.  The US never delivered them after Pakistan did Nuke testing violationg its non-nuclear test ban proliferation treaty.
