Prefered Crown Royal...until I tasted Crown Royal Special Reserve.

2 to 3 oz.s with a couple cubes of ice.  Makes the day go away.

Getting wasted on a single Malt is no fun under the circumstances he's outlined. Save the single Malt for when he's happy again. Then he can enjoy experience..........:)

Sandy,

What is the deference between a scotch drinker and an alcoholic?

The alcoholic goes to classes.

Dewars Whisky from Scotland is what I drink.  Great great stuff.  Don't drink that rotgut stuff like Old Crow, Kentucky Gentleman, etc when you feel bad.  Because after drinking that ***** you are really gonna feel bad.:(

You answered your own question Tap. It is AGED in new charred oak, according to law. That makes it a legal bourbon. They take the bourbon and "finish" it in cognac barrels. If they "aged" it in used cognac barrels (which aren't charred BTW) it would be a whiskey, not a bourbon.

1. What is bourbon?

There are strict laws governing just what a Bourbon must be to be labeled as such. For example, at least 51 percent of the grain used in making the whiskey must be corn (most distillers use 65 to 75 percent corn). Bourbon must be aged for a minimum of two years in new, white oak barrels that have been charred. Nothing can be added at bottling to enhance flavor, add sweetness or alter color.

Ah, the loophole Sandy is "at bottling". They do not add anything at the time of bottling such as flavoring or coloring. It is indeed a loophole they are exploiting.

And to get to the subject of the thread, if ya want a rotgut, nothing is worse than Kentucky Deluxe. KD, Killum Dead. 20% whiskey, 80% neutral grain spirits. 100% rotgut.

While I abhor Curevo Gold, Torada or Juarez would be more equal rotgut to KD.
