I think Hoarach is saying that with all the Spits, Nikis, La7s and what nots around, a P38 is more surviveable and enjoyable. I agree on the former and slightly on the latter. With the P38s climb and cannons you can take down adversaries pretty quickly if you fly it right. In the Jug you need to plan what you're going to do long before you merge and you need atleast a second of firing to take down an enemy.
In the MA, you often don't get that long to plan or fire. The La7 that chased you down and you were about to kill is now joined by a Hispano wielding Spitfire who chops your tail off right as you ping the La7. Hard knock life

Not saying this doesn't happen in the P38, or any plane for that matter, it's just that usually the La7 is already going down and you can evade the Spitfire in time to take him down as well.
