what dose GP stand for?
« on: June 22, 2005, 02:38:06 AM »
I was browsing the jap planeset in the MA and saw the Ki-67 could carry 3 250kg bombs and the d3a1 could carry a 250kg GP bomb.

what's the difference in a 250kg GP bomb and a 250kg bomb?

what dose the GP stand for and what dose it do?

general purpose i believe
"Willy's gone and made another,
Something like it's elder brother-
Wing tips rounded, spinner's bigger.
Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."

yes, gp is general purpose, meaning its weight was about 1/3 of the steel shell and 2/3 he

hc bombs, were 'high capacity' with a much higher ratio of he to steel, for maximum effect

there is no difference between the 250 and 250 gp bombs, theyre the same. just ht forgot to add gp
