Turning on the lead computing gunsight
« on: June 14, 2005, 06:12:18 PM »
Hey all, I was wondering how to turn on the lead computer gunsight if you're running a head to head server.  a buddy and I were thinking of setting up our own room and turning on the the helper and working on our gunnery a little bit but when I looked over the arena settings the other night I didn't see anything.  Of course the possibility also exsists that I'm blind....

Thanks,

The user (person firing) has to press the 'tab' key to bring up the lcs when a nme plane is in the front view after the lcs is enabled in arena settings.  I mention this because it took me a long time to figure that out.

I just tried it, I hit the tab key and it highlighted the aircraft icon, is this what should have happened?

yes

now if lead computing gunsight is turned on, you will see crosshairs in the air.

you put your gunsight on those and you will hit the plane that is bracketed

Grrrrrrrrrrrr, I try to click the box next to the gunsight in flight flag mode, gives me a change value of say 1148 (maximum of 2048 or something allowed) I then close it and it doesn't stay checked?
I tested it by switching air show smoke off and  as soon as I closed the box and opened it again to look, the smoke was on again ?

make sure your files in the c:\program files\htc\aces high II\settings folder are not "read only"

there should be a file called arena.cfg

thats the file that should not be read only.

other than than i dont know.... you doing this offline right? online you can not change the settings

To target friendlies you need to turn ON Friendly Lock with the Ctrl-Tab combination. Once Friendly Lock is Enabled the 'tab' and 'shift-tab' keys should work.

Damn. I thought this was about turning on the K14.
Wouldn't that be nice. I know, I know, I'm dreaming.
