I don't but it sure looks intresting.  Thanks!

Oh...can't recall if I shared this pic that I took of a buddy as we were thermalling in some of the best lift I've ever seen in Florida.  We were at about 8500ft when I snapped this...and we were still going up!

:(

No Schweizer 1-26.. the largest one-design competition class in the USA. I dunno why.. I just love this plane. Probably because it's 'old school'.. but damn it is really fun to fly... and in one-design competion there's a level playing field. With 1-26's a normal guy can afford one. ;)

1-26, circa 1950

Note/disclaimer: All sailplanes are fun to fly... ALL of 'em. Most nowdays operate at perfomance levels that would astonish a prop pile-it. Not even skydiving can approximate the rush of latching into a strong boomer.. the intensc concentration required to work lift.. the complete connection the pilot makes with the plane to 'work the lift'.. you are not flying a plane, you are flying.. incredible feeling.

Better than sex.

Way better.

damn.. if the sim's could only model THAT.. ;)

Current Version 1-26, USAF Sailplane team. .. some birds over 50 years old, still 'suckin it up, and kickin some butt'. ;)

The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.

Vati over on AGW worked on it.
It looks pretty badass...  generally speaking I'd say, if "one of us" is part of it, it's worth a look at.  Look on the bright side, among folks who post to these boards you can at least afford his. ;)

Years ago, I spent a day flying sailplanes with the test pilot school.

It was a blast. I've never felt so safe in an aircraft before or since.
