I thought you guys in America would like to know about this, it is unlikely to be reported otherwise.
There is a statue here in Glasgow city. Not a huge stone statue, but lifesize and made of bronze. It is of a fireman in protective clothing and breathing apparatus and was put there to remember the Citys firefighters who have given all over the years. He stands in the street and you can go up to him and look him in the eye.
There are flowers around him now. If any proof were needed that we are all in this together, I think this simple act says it better than any words than I for one can find. It has been a long time for sure but Scotland has not forgotten its distant sons and daughters.
