de football! futball!! SOCCER!!!
« on: June 28, 2005, 03:18:25 PM »
what is so great about this sport? it has been dubbed the most famous world wide sport. and evryone seems to love it. I couldn't get into it. Watching a bunch of guys kick a ball around and score a goal every 45 minutes isn't appealing. I like hockey, fast paced not so big area, a small puck and contact. I also looove golf. seeing where they are going to hit it and watching tiger come back from 3 strokes down with 5 left. but soccer i don't get. is it the atmosphere? a bunch of hooligans going crazy for there team? or is the sport itself fun to watch?

You can watch golf...but not soccer/football?

Admittedly I can't really watch either. I wouldn't mind playing either, but watching it is to slow to keep my attention.

People into immediate gratification will not appreciate soccer.  I blame MTV.

I am not a big soccer fan, but that is attributed to a bad soccer episode when I was younger.

I take this to mean you have never played. Much like any sport playing it gives you an insight into it that outsiders dont get. Soccer is fast paced, just low scoring.

I love soccer, played since I was 4, and looking for an adult league that speaks english (hard to find in Houston). Score depends on skill mis-match, we've run up games 16-0 and were playing 7 vs 11 after the 6th goal... damn, I can still remember that game from 12 years ago.

Can't watch soccer though, I hate the playing styles of alot of countries & makes it boring for me. Unless I was with a group of die-hard hooligans I wouldn't go to a match.

I pretty much only watch Boxing & racing. Anything else doesn't hold my attention for very long...

ps: Skuzzy, my desire for instant gratification isn't from MTV. I blame it on having a T3 while everybody else was just upgrading to 28.8k modems :)

by far the most important thing if you are spectating football is to watch an entertaining team.  Watch the English or Spanish leagues.

I dont watch national or international Fußball Leagues, i just dont have
the time to watch.
But Fußball World-Championship or European-Championship is a MUST SEE!
Nothing better, with some friends & beers to watch your team winning ! ;*)
btw. World Championship 2006 is held in germany! Now this will
be a BIG party for sure LOL
