Charlotte has some pretty decent bars especially in the downtown area.  Depending on when you're there, the Panthers games can be pretty exciting as well.  Tell me what you like to do at home, and I can give you ideas.  Charlotte is a hop and a skip from me.

Best Breakfast: Original Pancake Houseon South Boulevard

Best Lunch:  Probably anything downtown, they may sketch you out at first but most of these places have some really nice people and great food

Best Dinner: Kristopher's Sport Bar, as the name implies you can have great burgers while enjoying a sports bar atmosphere.  It's off of Matthews I believe.

Charlotte, is mostly a city of youth.  With that in mind you'll find plenty of sports bars, clubs, and regular bars downtown.  If clubbing is your thing....go for it.

Hi Rip,

I live 3 hours to the east of Charlotte in Fayetteville, but I end up commuting there a lot because it is the hub of our Presbytery.

If you play golf, then the place to visit is Pinehurst, it's pricey, but some of the best golf in the world, especially the famous #2 course (take the virtual tour).

Also of interest is the Carolinas Avaiation Museum which is located right next to Charlotte airport. The collection is a little on the limited side, but I'm a warbird junky, so I'll visit any historic airframe in driving distance and drag the family along. They have a few nifty aircraft including some warbirds not on their home page.

Drop me an email if you want to grab lunch or something sometime.

Im about 3 hours in the opposite direction of  Seagoon in Boone. I hardly go to Charlotte except for something like Carowinds or if just passing through when heading to the beach.
