You got watch any product that is both a weed and grass killer.  A lot better for sidewalk and driveway use to kill things growing in the gaps. I have a buddy that used it to spot kill weeds on his lawn and he now has a dozen 3" brown spots all over. It's hard to be "careful enough" with those products. Though, the weeds only  spot killers I've used have generally sucked.

Except for banana trees which love it.

My father-in-law who has a place in Hawaii and just happens to be a tree doctor, says banana trees thrive on human urine.  Everytime he has to whiz he goes in the back yard to 'water' the trees.

Uncles did pour some hydrochloric acid on the ground in seventies; took 10 years before anything did grow in that place.

Nuke will fix you up with some fake grass.  Dig up the whole lawn and go "fake".
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain
