ch is the best so far for dependability. I hate the rudders but am getting used to em... the stick springs are made for tiny little girls... you can make em more for adult males by running 1/4" rubber bands to each of the four points of the axis.

X45! Or maybe try the X52.
Buy it from CompUSA, get thier $10 1-year replacment plan. After about 8mo, opr whyen the joystick loses it's feel, take it back, throw down another $10, get a new joystick. Rinse, repeat.

if it was in spanish it would be "La joystick" when describeing CH joysticks... You have to have exceptionaly weak wrists to find CH springs acceptable.

or... fly luftwhiner planes.. (excuse me if that seems a triffle redundant)

And I will use it until I find something that I like better. Right now I don't see any reason to switch to CH. I have tried every piece that they have ever put in the market and can't stand the way they feel. Personal Preference. I did have an F-16 FLCS,TQS,RCS setup and upgraded to the F-22 stick when it was available. Both of them had digital chips in them and were extremely smooth but the F-22 died a bad death moving cross country. The F-16 got lucky since it was in a different box. Now though I am in line to get a Uber2NXT stick mod for the joystick, along with Hall Sensors to replace the pots. Sure I am probably going to spend at least as much as I did in the beginning but I would have gladly spent this total amount then for a 100% product as SOB pointed out rather than doing it piece by piece.

Rotary are not needed ,you have more than enought button to map.
I agree it's less intuitive but since I changed from X45 for a full CH setup I've nothing to say negative about CH (for saitek it's another story)

Well, it's true that for the price more quality material (especially pots) had to be expected, BUT

- Foxy Software ist just as good as it gets when coming to programable game devices
- the metal finish gives it a little special something
- the modding community spilled forward some unbelievable custom made parts

I just received my UberCougar Mark II - just have to put it together. New custom designed and made gimbals for zero center play, absolut precision and little wear. Hall sensor instead of electronic pots means even more precision with no wear at all! Ok, cost me more than a new Cougar, but wth - we built cockpits in our living room!

I'd go Cougar all the way.

p.s.: My Saitek X36 lived no longer than 6 months.

Simple answer will only come when you try a few of them . It will be the one you prefer. That will be the best.
CH pedals are awesome. I`ve had the same set now since JC was wearing short pants. The ones I have are analog hooked up to a USB adapter, if that tells you anything.
CH sticks are probably the most touted product when this question is asked, and it`s been asked over and over and over. There is no doubt in my mind that CH sticks out last most anything on the market, but that does not mean they are for everyone. I have a CH stick sitting on the shelf that I view as a rattlesnake.
The weak, limp wristed feel of it reminds me of shaking hands with a flaming studmuffin. Weak, weak weak. Others find them the shiznits.
The same thing always arises in these posts as it has here. (You can do a search and find out how many times I have went over the same thing)
Someone , or multiple someones always advises you to go to CompUSA, PCsRus, Ripoffputers or some such and to pay them the $10, $15, $20 or whatever to get the in- store warranty so that you may go back in case of a problem and get a replacement.
I got a better idea. Just send me the money if you have a tendency to bend over every time the wind changes.
I have used Saitek sticks for a long time. I have never paid an in- store warranty fee.
On a couple of occasions I have had problems with my Saitek X45s, etc.
I have simply sent an e-mail to Saitek, told them of the problem I was experiencing and told them I didn`t want to be withoout my stick while I shipped it to them, then waited for a replacement or to get mine repaired. I have asked that a replacement stick be shipped to me and upon receiving it I would ship the the faulty stick back.
Never had a problem with this from the folks at Saitek.

I have an X52. I've used Saitek HOTAS since the X36 and other than that was a Cyborg Evo (a great stick too) and a Logitech Wingman. For full on throttle and stick control, go for the full CH if you have the cash. The x52 is great for the money, I love it to death and it feels like a huge investment over the HUGE X45. I have somewhat small hands and plus the way the buttons were situated made me mad.

Plus the spring loaded SAFE over the FIRE button really feels great when you're firing missiles!
