Why not add these armament setups in the hangar?

Am I wrong when I think that the only difference between a, b and c were armament?

Also, how many different Ki84 versions (operation production planes) were there, the source I have says there were the "ki84" with the trail aircraft and pre-production aircraft aswell as two prototypes.

Then came the Ki-84-1a, b and c with a few differnet engine setups, the most common being the HA-45-21. (which engine is modelled in AH?)

KI-84-II was only built a few numbers.

After that my source say there were no more production planes, only sugestions and prototypes.

They also had different gun armanents.  Ki84b had 4x20mms and the ki84c had 2x30mms and 2x20mms.  I think if we had these armanents more people would fly the ki84 because of the gunpower.

Personally I do think we should have them BUT not under the same model.

The Ic should definatly be a light perk plane and maybe even the Ib.

The Ki84 is an extreamly good plane and the Ic would definatly be on par with the C-Hog.

I think the Ki-84-I-Otsu  (Ki-84-Ib) and Ki-84-I-Tei (I think that's right for the Ki-84-Ic) both used the Ha-45-21, which is what the Ki-84-I-Ko in AH is using as well I think. I am unaware of any differences other than the armamant changes.


About 500 Ki-84-I-Otsu were built.

I have been told that less than five, and possibly no, Ki-84-I-Tei were built and it did not see combat in any case.  In IL-2 et al it is just another dominant aircraft that was never used, but Il-2 is full of those.

If somebody can provide evidence that the Ki-84-I-Tei was produced in numbers and saw combat I'd be interested in seeing it.  I have no doubt that it would have seen combat had the war lasted a bit longer.

Luckily there arent many servers to find where u can fly them.

Good servers have mostly a good planesetup.

Nah, then people would be able to get more than one kill in them before the ammo clip was empty.

Ok, thanks. Would still be nice to have the 4x20's setup though, or maybe not, might make it just another NIKI that everyone would fly, would be boring.

I don't think so.  It had 150 rounds per gun and with their high rate of fire it would have nothing like the N1K2-J's ammo endurance.  The Ho-5's shells also don't seem as damaging as the N1K2-J's Type 99 Model 2's shells.

Might be right Karnak.

Everybody expected the Ki84 to be the new "dweeb ride" in AH, replacing the LA7 and Niki (no offence ment to those who fly them) but it hasn't become any such thing, Much due to ammo pherhaps but also due to high speed handeling (losing elevators anyone?).

150 round per gun, 4 guns, 600 rounds, to me, that's hell of alot of ammo but guess most people may find 150rpg little...

Would be nice anyway...

So, everyone is flying a NIKI now?  I thought it was LA7s.  For every 10 Spits, 190s, and 51s that I see evry night, I see 1 or 2 NIKIs and/or LA7s.  Yet people complain about the overuse of teh planes.

Give the Ki the guns.  What it has now sucks.  Sure it is nice to land 1 or 2 pings from Hispos and pull the tail off a plane.  Empty a full clip from a Ki and they still fly home.  It can't be me either cause I don't seem to have any probs with the Spit guns.

Got any more info of the two cannons Karnak? The Ho-5 was later if I'm not mistaking, higher rate of fire and higher velocity (Ki61 use em aswell I believe but cowl mounted). Should have more hitting power unless the Type 99 have more explosives in em...

Well Dedalos, although I agree on the hizooka issue (freaking insane guns, no way to get easier kills) I don't quite agree on the Ki84.

Was flying it earlier today and got a real feel for it for the first time thanks to spending some more time in it. I landed 6 and 7 kills without reloading and also got shot down a on another one or two 6 kill sorties. It may be that I am more conservant with ammo after flying 109's alot in the past...

I fly it for the past three months.  The second or when I get lucky the third kill comes from the 50s.  Most of my experience witht he guns comes from the DA where if I ping you with a Spit, there is visible damage.  Ping you with a Ki and nothing.  Not complaining about thew Hispos.  I am just saing giving the Ki a little more fire power is not gona make everyone fly it.

Dedalos you may be right and I HOPE you are right and I HOPE we can get the 4 gun loadout.

It should probarly be added as another Ki version though with even lower ENY, otherwise the 2 gunned version would never be flown again...
