P47's are still Uber except for speed :)

P47N sounds great IMO, always nice getting new planes no matter what country they belonged to!

Gonna love to fly this puppy I think.

Btw, we have a 190 F8, no real need for an F3 yet unless there is a scenario that requires it.

found this link with google.

Near the end of the text it says the N had a speed of 397mph at 10k.

Looks at HTC's Jug charts in the planes section and you will see that the speed increase is more or less linear for the P47's from 10k up to 25k.

Although this may be an inaccurate way of comparing, it's the best till we either find real numbers of actually get to fly it.

Speed difference in the other Jugs betwene 0k and 10k is almost 30mph.

N speed at 10k = 397 mph. Withdraw 30mph from this and you get 367.

So say around 360-370, not enough to compete with any of the fastest planes, LA7 will eat it to lunch most likely due to the weight if the N modell, Dora's will still be easy cause they can't turn for S***. P51's will eat it for lunch as will a well flown G10.

Question is, will anyone need more then 50% + DT? In normal Jugs I usually go 100% and DT, same thing in almost every plane except P51 and Ta152 but don't see a reason for that with the N.

I think most of the frustration with the new planes comes from the fact that we have a Ta152 that is undermodeled, a Spit5 that is overmodeled, a 4 cannon F4U that is perked wjile a 3 cannon La7 remains unperked. I mean, really, is the N model needed. Did I miss the gigantic hole in the planeset that this will now shore up?

Spit 5 overmodelled? How so?
It did exist, although a late 1942 bird, and I would hazard a guess more flew than the TA-152.
You also forgot the outrageously priced Spit 14.

But I do agree with the perk thing, about time HT brought some logical reasoning into it instead of perking willy nilly.

Wouldn't worry about the P-47N - If it's NOT perked I will be very suprised. It wouldn't come as a shock if it's up there close to a Spit 14 cost, given its speed at alt, range and ord carrying capabilities.

I'll give you one good reason why it will be perked - without it all you'll see is P-47N's instead of the usual mix of P47s.

A lot of posts referring to the Spit5 over boost.
