A New Penal Code for Sexual Predators

These guys are just plain sick.  I mean, mentally and I've never heard about a cure for it.   I've seen interviews where the perv talks about it and that he really cant help doing it.  That is a sickness.  

Does therapy work?  Is it like an alchoholic going to therapy and being able to not drink again?  

My view is, since our society, justifiably, does not tollerate this behavior.. and since what's at stake is our childeren....  I'm not comfortable with trusting these guys out on the street and just hoping they will behave becasue they say that they feel better.

He grabbed a girl he almost ran over and lectured her on being careful.  They tried and sentenced him as a sexual predator.

From past threads I understand that some of our posters have been opposed to the surgical or chemical castration of repeat sexual offenders.  

In light of recent events, have any of you changed your minds?  Personally, I support these procedures more strongly than ever.  Chemical castration has been tried in some states, and has proven to reduce these predators' sexual appetites, as long as the authorities can adequately monitor the taking of the medication by the offender.

Should such procedures become mandatory after the offender commits his second or third crime?

This guy needs to die a slow death, peel the skin off his body, poke his eyes out, we all should get a crack at him. In this case I hope they don't drag their feet (courts) this man is pure evil he should have no mercy granted him  at all.
What in Gods name was the judge who  set his bail low enough for him to get out thinking. I mean he is a level 3 sex offender, you don't  let these people just walk around. Something has to be done, to many of these animals are being set free and released back into society. They don't change. So chemical castration or whip out the ole buck knife either way it has to be done.

Surgical castration will likely never be allowed due to cruel and inhuman punishment grounds, and chemical castration can be and has been reversed by convicted sexual predators.

Besides the fact that you are ASSUMING that sex drive itself is the reason for sex crimes.

Given the current way the justice system works, with regards to appeals, you'd be hard pressed to actually execute or imprison for life an innocent person. Not saying it would not happen, just saying it would be unlikely.

Further, MOST juries require a higher burden of proof in cases where the two alternatives for punishment are execution and life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Not to mention the fact that most appeals courts require not only a higher burden of proof (and use whatever means necessary to overturn a conviction they don't agree with), but also allow fewer, if any, reverseable/appealable errors to take place in such a trial without reversing it on appeal.

If we can put an ankle bracelet on Martha Stewart then we should be able to handle this problem..

I think real sexual preditors should be punished with life minimum....


But we need to get the laws cleaned up so BS like that case or a girl who feels guilty the next day cant claim rape and ruin a guys life.

Yup, sure happens. I also personally know a 20yr old guy who was dating a 15 yr old with her parents permission. Until they got mad at him and had him arrested. Now he is a registered sex offender.

The violent child rapist/killers need to go away for life or get death. Not only do they hurt thier victoms but in some cases the victoms become the victomizer. The Idaho perp has stated that he was an abused repeatedly child. That's no excuse, just an example of the cycle of abuse.

These judges need to get a freakin' clue. These guys cannot be rehabilitated. Build a nice little prison out in the desert and let them grow their own food and work to support themselves.

100 yrs ago these guys would't live long enough to commit their 2nd or 3rd crime. That is the price we pay for being so "civilized".
