A New Penal Code for Sexual Predators
« on: July 05, 2005, 09:11:36 PM »
The vast majority of the posters on this bulletim board are undoubtedly appalled and sickened by the case of child abduction in Idaho.

God only knows what the young brother and sister went through at the hands of that sexual predator.

From past threads I understand that some of our posters have been opposed to the surgical or chemical castration of repeat sexual offenders.

In light of recent events, have any of you changed your minds?  Personally, I support these procedures more strongly than ever.  Chemical castration has been tried in some states, and has proven to reduce these predators' sexual appetites, as long as the authorities can adequately monitor the taking of the medication by the offender.

Should such procedures become mandatory after the offender commits his second or third crime?

Your thoughts?

Regards, Shuckins

I dont believe in forcing these sick humans into castration, I believe in hanging them from the neck until dead.

Shuckins were you run into the problems with your idea is the application.  Most politicians will call for new laws, when a widly publicised event takes place, wich do nothing to legislate away the problem.

Automatic sentences don't work either when you have a guy grab a little girl by the arm to yell at her for playing in the road and he's now a "convicted sex offender" for the rest of his life.

lets also asume that some innocents are going to be wrongly convicted through out history.  Do you want to castrate a guy (and lets face it guys commit these sick crimes so it's guys that are going to get it here) whos a good father and husband because of some lying girl....and yes that does and has happend.

The problem is we have a lot of laws currently on the books that arent followed.  ALot of these guys are in fact repeat offenders given 2nd and 3rd chances.  I don't really ahve a good answer that's a solution.

Exactly, childmolesters and rapists do not deserve a second chance. Their victems in many cases dont get one. The brother in the case prolly didnt.

Anyone who thinks they deserve anything better should be forced to live nextdoor to them. Hell they should even want to all good liberals know these misunderstood people just need help and understanding.

the victims who dont get a second chance (as in kidnap rape murder) are a tiny, miniscule minority. hell, the number of people who are abused by a stranger is less than 10% (iirc)

be forced to live next door? unless the persons already a registered sex offender, they will not know.

Why would they do that.  Sounds like a pretty stupid thing to do to me.  Come to think of it...

This might help you http://www.eunuch.org/

Anyway if somebody make these things because hes ill, then i would offer him therapy. If he refuse and he commited his crime for a first time pass him  to doctors. If doctors will say, that he will never change w/o proper teraphy, then i would give him a choise. [ therapy or bullet]
If he pick therapy, lets say for 5 years i would let judge those who treated him and some other docs.

It work like this in our country and if docs agree that he can not be treated, then our law allow castration (not the bullet).
But i agree that somebody who rape the child deserve at least 5 bullet. ( yeah yeah yeah ... i know its not economiacal :D )

If you are not going to execute sexual predators, then the ONLY other solution is life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Surgical castration will likely never be allowed due to cruel and inhuman punishment grounds, and chemical castration can be and has been reversed by convicted sexual predators.

Besides the fact that you are ASSUMING that sex drive itself is the reason for sex crimes.

Given the current way the justice system works, with regards to appeals, you'd be hard pressed to actually execute or imprison for life an innocent person. Not saying it would not happen, just saying it would be unlikely.

Further, MOST juries require a higher burden of proof in cases where the two alternatives for punishment are execution and life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Not to mention the fact that most appeals courts require not only a higher burden of proof (and use whatever means necessary to overturn a conviction they don't agree with), but also allow fewer, if any, reverseable/appealable errors to take place in such a trial without reversing it on appeal.

even if you castrate these sick ****s they will still do evil things to children.   They can't be helped except to put em out of their missery.

The crime should be the death penalty.  there should be absolute proof tho.   Any adult falsly accusing another of a sex crime tho should have to serve a sentance equal to what the innocent man would have gotten.

since we won't kill them as they deserve, why can't we label them for life starting with a sexpred license plate... I've heard a DUI in OH gets u a blue tag so all know. Why can't something nationwide be implemented for convited molesters and rapists?
