E-machines is selling an A64 processor system with an ATI x200 video card for about 550.00.  Anyone have this system, or know if if would run AH2 well?  Its time for an upgrade for me and I dont want to spend a lot

Video card is junk (at least for Aces High).  If you buy an E-Machines I'd seriously recommend you have another hard drive as a backup.  They dont have a good record on hard drives lasting much over a year.

Well, I have an ATI 9800 Pro collecting dust..is that better than the x200?  I do have a 160 Gig drive lying around as well.

You can build a computer using exisiting box, HD, power supply, CD, floppy, ethernet card, modem,  that 9800 ati card etc, for about $130. Or.....you can pay $550 for the new one that will be bascially the same as what you can build. Take a look either on the inet or through fryes and you can buy the MB/CPU combo but you will still need to spend around $50 for the ram.

You get all the drivers you need for the MB when you buy it and can dl the latest updates. Xp will do it all for you....

I upgrade MB/CPU/Ram about once a year.

Hope this helps..

the 9800 pro is better than the x200 , and it would be a good swap as long as the board has a AGP slot and not a PCI-E slot for graphics , not sure which model you looking at , but i would double check that ... 38

Stay away from Emachines.  I saw a similar if not the same system at Walmart.  Emachines dont last long.
