Warbirds Over Delaware this weekend!
« on: July 06, 2005, 08:10:03 PM »

Come see 150+ Giant Scale Warbirds fly at the Lums Pond State Park... Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday.  I've been attending this meet for 8 years now.. one of the best if not THE best big R/C Warbirds shows anywhere.

The P-51 looks sweet! Whenever I see a zero, I want to set it on fire.

Are you going to have any planes there or a booth?

Both.. we're bringing an L-21B, SE5a, P51D, Fokker D8 'Razor', AT6, PT-19, A6M5 Zero (nyah, yah!), Me163 Komet (2 of em.. one has a rocket motor) and a Sopwith Pup... and two 10x20 tents.. one for the flight line, the other in the vendor area filled with batteries, meters, switches, chargers and whatnot.

Quite the ordeal, packin all that stuff up for a 500 mile hike. 2 Vans, one trailer.

Heluva show.. worth the logistal nightmares. ;)

edit.. missed the A5M4 Claude, this'll be it's first ride. Any bets on survival? ;)

Oh; hell yes.. seems that every region has a big warbirds R/C meet anually.. I'll check the AMA contest calander when I get back next week. I'll put up shots of this meet too. There's a company that travels around filming these things every year.. think it's called SKS Video Productions.. they have VHS and DVD's of most of 'em.

Anybody in the Houston area should try to make it out to the big event at Bomber Field.  I went last year and there were lots of giant scale warbirds there including 7 or 8 B-17s.  They even gave away a B-17 in a raffle complete with engines and servos and all.  I think it usually happens in late Sept or early Oct.  I will have to look up the web site again....I cant seem to find it in my favorites anymore.
