Coker said Washington did in fact make a sizeable donation to Fisher House several months after his visit to BAMC. He declined to comment on the size of the donation, but it was not enough to build a new Fisher House.

[Coker also] said the fact that Washington, 49, did not write a check 'on the spot' does not diminish his contribution to the Fisher House and his support 'for the men and women who serve our country.'

I once mowed the lawn and trimed flowers for an old lady. Felt good to make a difference even for one old lady. :D

I wonder why he has a "I refuse to kiss a White woman" clause in his contracts.

maybe he is not attracted to white women?  I am not attracted to black women.  No big deal.

I will feel better wastching his movies now that I know he made a large contribution to such a worthy cause without making a big deal out of it.

"maybe he is not attracted to white women?"

I thought that's why they call it "acting".  I had to put it in quotes, since playing yourself in every movie isn't really acting.

well... some guys have in their contract that they won't do homosexual kissing and so do some women..... actor or not.

It could also be that he doesn't feel that he wants to participate in the hollywood version of racial mixing.   It may be an idealogical reason that is not racism.

Supposedly black women are not pleased that black men go for white women as soon as they get the least bit famous or make a lot of money.    I don't really know his reasons but if that is what he want's then it is fine with me.

First off, until someone can produce an actual contract with that clause in it as far as I am concerned it is bovine excrement. Period.

Secondly in this day of actors and entertainers dumping on the Military and those who are in it I am very pleased to see someone who is actually supportive of those who served. I have been on the bbs more than once with my opinion of actors and entertainers. In this case I think this one deserves some respect, not for what he does on screen but for actions like the one featured in the article. Meeting the troops and doing something to boost morale of those who have paid a sacrifice for their country.

Like Laz said this is one entertainer that I would not have any problem in supporting by buying a ticket for his movies.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

well.... I am pleased to support him because of his contribution and the way he did it...

I don't really care if he has the no kissing white women clause or not... If he does then I admire him for sticking to a personal principal even if I personaly have nothing against kissing white women (for the most part).

It's his choice tho and it doesn't offend me or bother me in the least.
