Kraft has jumped on the marketing with a complete line of "South Beach Diet" foods. Carb dieting is huge in sales.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

GRUN you like Mickey D's salads? Ughhh and ugghhh especially Paul Newmans.  I find Wendy's side salad is much more wholesome and tastier.

Wendy's are good too. :)

One thing I noticed is that there tends to be differences in quality from one place to another though  mine have all been pretty good so far.  But I certaionly dont go to fast food places for great quality dining, I go there for the conveniance when time is short or when I'm on the roador whatever and I love that there are so many more healthy options recently.

Been doing the same thing as well....went to annual physical and was dissapointed with myself....

so far so good.....never thought I would be counting calories and being ok with it!!

i do give myself a free day...but find it hard even then to go off the beaten path!!! had chance to eat pizza and crap, and ended up with a huge salad and a slice of pizza.....

just had no temptation to ruin all the hard work so far....

I agree with this method, my girlfriend showed me this way, she went to college for dietetics, food science blah blah blah.....and does it herself. people just look at you weird sometimes when you show up with 5 micro meals in your lunch box! LOL

326 starting weight....first 3 weeks down to 308..and counting....

gotta live longer!! got a kid to watch grow up!

So far it's been pretty simple.

One, I had a damn good reason - a serious health scare. There is a funny story behind that too. :)

Two, I found a way to do it.

The way I did it was with diet changes and simple exercize - mostly walking. I eat 5 times a day, about 300 calories per meal. I always eat breakfast, then eat every three hours until my 5 meals or 1500 calories are spent. I drink 1/2 gallon of water a day.

Some of the most imporant changes to my diet came from eliminating full sugar sodas - or any source of calories from drinks, using PAM cooking spray, and watching calories to set schedule, especially the meals thing.

If you are smart you can make pretty big and tasty meals for only about 300 calories and yoiu can eat them 5 times a day.

I even go to Mcdonalds and In-N-out several times a week - just order the right things the right way.

One last thing, I reccomend that youi guys stay away from Atkins type diets - most of the weight loss there comes from dehydration and that type of diet does not help with cholesterol or many other problems related to high weight.

Is anyone else doing this too?

well done that man!

I dont know how much i weigh, i am one of these annoying people who eat what they want and always stay the same due to metabolism.  i would guess at around 11-11.5 stone, 155 - 160lb?
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

I'm same height... 180. I need to be about 160.

At the end of my second WestPac, about 20 years ago, I weighed 130.
