Hi All,

Was just wondering which other AH Players work in the Institutional Investment industry. If so, what sort of role do you have?

My wife was saying that I was probably the only one in my type of work that plays this "silly" game. I told her no way. I am chief investment officer for a pension plan, oversee approximately $4 billion in investments.

Sounds like someone is about to get the chance to try out the new $199 a month premium AH subscription.  Congratulations!

my father has been in the real estate investment business for like 25+ years.

i dont understand it all, but sort of like this:

his company would evaluate a multi-million dollar property, find it's worth, and approve or deny the loan, and administer the loan, including the escrow.

the billions were not "his" to loan, but from an institution, the last one was JP morgan. morgan used an option to buy, in a hostile move, and bought my father's business that did that a few years ago.

most recently he worked for a subsidary of GMAC, until the fall in NYC and head injury made it not possible for him to work fully (no flying, and limited work hours)

his last biggest deal was the re-finance of the world trade center about a month before 9/11

I'm not an institutional investment  manager, but I do play the market and handle my own stock.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

The diversity of the people who play this and other sims is pretty amazing.  In our squad we have had people who work as IT managers, Bankers, Military personel, Doctors, Ranchers, Mechanics, Teachers, Business owners, construction workers, demolition experts, Electrical engineers, Truck drivers (to name a few)
