The TA - its pretty fun
« on: July 12, 2005, 10:01:32 PM »
I've been playing AH for about 11/2 years but never used the TA a lot. I 've been going there the last week and have fouind a lot of fun just maneuevering against other planes - jockeying for position. Its culture shock to go back into the ma and find people running (la la la la). Anyway, sorry for the venting on range. You find yourself with no gas an full ammo, and you start to miss the TA.  I think my language was ok, but it was juvenile. I just don't see the sense of playing if you want to run. Different strokes I guess.

I thought the TA was for training, but every time I go in there, maybe to try out a new plane or see how far I can push one I've been using, some ******* saddles up on me and starts shooting.  Maybe all the times I've been in there are just a coincidence that some idiot is having  a personal shoot fest, but I'm not finding it to be an arena that I want to spend any time in.  I need some help with gunnery and ACM but I'm not comfortable with going into the "Training Arena"  :(

If there's a trainer there, they won't let anyone harass you. The message of the day even states not to shoot at anyone without asking first. But even if they are a troll and still shoot without your permission - they cant hurt you. I'd use it as an opportunity to practice evasives. If they cant kill you its just a matter of time before you get on the offensive. Then practice your gunnery and dirty up THEIR plane.

But if a trainer is up, no one is going to act a fool for long.

You can expect to run into a lot of new players trying to learn how to fly, fight and shoot. If there is a trainer in the arena, ask him to hold the noobs in check; no one should be shooting without first asking permission.

However, there are many unused airfields where you can fly unmolested. If you take off from A1, you can expect to be challenged. If you want unfettered training, the trainers will go to an empty base and work with you.

Just don't rag on the TA because you elected to fly from a base that is a 24-7 furball.

A note to those who refuse to follow the MTOD and/or annoy other players; repeat violations will get you bounced from the arena for up to an hour.

If no trainers are in the arena, take note of the offending player's handle and send an e-mail to HTC or trainers@hitechcreations.com and we'll have a discussion with that individual.
