So I bought a new jeep!
I had a 4 banger 2000 wrangler at one time, and it was good off road, but would have cost way to much to upgrade, and it was scary on the free way, lol to light and on a windy day you could not go above 55 and be safe.
The Rubicon is heavier, comes with jeeps inline six. It has all kinds of off road items as standard.
Starting with Dana 44 front and rear axles (dana 35c's are standard on the other jeep wranglers) These axles are WAY stronger then the 35s.
31 inch tires, (all other jeeps come with 30s or 27s)
4 wheel disk brakes. (all others front disk rear drum)
a 4 to 1 transfer case, so it can crawl better, (put it in 4 low, and first gear and it will climb a 45 degree hill at idle. )
special skid plates.
16 inch aluminum wheels
Lockers built into both the fron and rear axles ( these lock the wheel together so both spin at the same rate. )
limited slip on the back axle when the locker is not on.
6 speed manual standard.
AC standard
I wanted the soft top and steel half doors
Has a CD player standard witha 7 speacker sound system.
all for 27,400 base, but I pay 25,600 for mine, just about invoice.
Here are some pics, I already took it out in the dirt. It rocks!
I washed some dirt off cause I dont want the top stained before they put the stain gaurd on it.
