Isn't this a reason why HT started ENY? When 1 country gets too many ppl the ENY limiter kicks in and HT wants ppl to switch sides. That or log off.

I think the 1st of Sept the DOW will rotate to Rook.

UNfortunately i have reached a point where the game is not fun. I would have quit 3 years ago except for my friends, both bish and my squaddies. What has been happening is the bish have lost 4 sqauds to knits and rooks over the last 4 weeks. I suspect we will lose more....the numbers last night were 90 bish 180 knits and 157 rooks...the rooks had no eny and the knits were about 15. I could care less about perks...having a perk bonus while your vulched is useless. I know there will be good nights and bad nights but i have nonstop defended and porked for about 3 weeks to try and slow our reset down. I have had enuf...i hope hitech or the squad leaders will resolve this imbalance becuz i cant see it is good for the game. i dont mind being ganged from time to time but this is brutal.   If you care about this game you should fix it...my generation (thirty somethings) are the last group who will give a crap about ww2. lose a bunch of us now and the game will continue to spiral in numbers.   I know from other posts ihave read that some will make fun of us not jumping as well. That is our loyalty and honor...not to impune others...its just how we choose to play the game.

That just sounds like a damn fun and targetrich environment to me! Very jelous of bish lately. I change countries a little now and then since I had being in the country with high numbers. Sucks to have few targets.

And as for your generation being the last that gives a crap about WW2 history/planes era etc, you couldn't be more wrong.

No,  i play for 3-4 years, but i can't remember any side out# soo bad like we{bish} are now, evenings 9-10pm ET, we have 80-90 players vs 170-180 rooks/knits,
And those 80-90 half are nobs sending "join msgs" when im in tower, shooting frienslys, escorting CVs in PTs, defending HQ in M8s
Falc is right, is not fun anymore, can't find fun fights, werever you go are horde jumping on me or vulching,

I hate it for ya Falcwng, but did you ever stop and think about why the other squads are leaving bishland? The Regulators started to rotate about a year ago, but the last time we flew bish we found most of them to be rude & unhelpfull. Everyone in my squad were dead set agains flying bish from that point on. The next tour we flew nits. They have alot of good people , but again when you needed help, none was found. Heck even Whels was screamin for help , but no nit would help him. Now the rooks will help if you ask for it. You may have to ask a few times, but someone will come along and help you out. Just my 2 cents:cool:

i miss the old old aw where you didnt base take...then you could fighter or buff or tank as you wished and numbers were not as important as skills.  you didnt want to meet my p38 in the air back then =0

No.  But then Rooks will horde no matter how low their numbers are.  They just do it at fewer bases.  :)

I know, but pretty much all I do is defend so I dont get to see the Rook hordes very often (and all countries have them). :)

I have posted at length on this topic in the past. I will not repeat myself. But, the simple fact is each country has a predominance of character and attitude which greatly effects both its method and its appeal. As others have alluded to there is a definate cycle with regard to numerical disparities. Those on Bish who think they have it worse now than anyone prior are either new, ignorant or dellusional.

So, accept that your team will go thru cycles of being badly outnumbered. You have a choice; 1) either adapt to the changing situations accordingly as others in your predicament have done in the past avoiding the poisonous defeatist attitude, 2) pack it in and log off or 3) switch countries and become part of the problem. It seems to me from my observations the majority of Bishops have tended toward the latter two options. That is not to say that Bishops are ALL fair weather flyers, but by and large that is a prevalent characteristic.

Having flown Bishops in the recent past (when their numbers were on par with the other 2 countries) I made several general observations which distinguish them from the other two countries.

1) Alot of noobs.
2) Alot of kids.
3) Alot of armchair generals coercing people into joining their missions with accusations of being un-partiotic or traitorous if they choose not to.
4) Alot of quitters; they tend to throw in the towel quickly if they are getting overmatched, especially in furballs and static base defense situations.
5) Bishops generally tend to greatly over-emphasize the land-grab aspect of the game over the 'have-fun' and kick-butt in tenacious fighter battles aspect of the game (furballing), making Bishops rather unappealing to your better fighter pilots.

So, you may or may not agree with those points, some can be readily changed and some cannot. But, the simple and harsh fact is unless some effort is put forth by those committed to the Bish cause to change your lack of numbers, the apparent source for grief, will not be assuaged.

If squads are leaving Bishland after being Bish for years, don't blame them, blame yourselves. Moving a squadron requires a high degree of consensus and usually multiple catalysts. If people/squadrons are leaving Bishland in droves that should send up a HUGE warning flag. Obviously, there are several aspects of being Bishops PRIOR to you simply being outnumbered that precipitated their moving (see my list above).

Seems a bit silly to me to stay loyal to an empty virtual country

Becoming part of the problem by switching also seems like a viable step to solve the problem. I'm sure that something will change when nobody flies Bish anymore ;)

And for your information...those that have played AH from the beginning can assure you that all countries have gone through a phase like this (knits and rooks have been on the receiving end long time years ago)

you know what is funny...my squad and i flew for bish a few months back now...then we started to catch crap from the bish we was fighting along side about "spy" this and some other crap that....ya da ya da ya da...so we left.

when people or squads do jump sides to help even out, the same country asking for help, gives those guys crap?

We are truly sorry for your not having fun, and we shall do the very thing you deplore -- namely switching virtual countries -- in order to satisfy you.  Again, please accept our humblest and sincerest apologies for negatively impacting your gameplay experience by flying how we want and with whom we want.

when severely outnumbered you must change tactics.. going head to head with the horde is suicide.

when the rooks got a piece a year or two ago the numbers were as you described but worse in the fact that that campaign went on for a half of year or more..

day in day out..   half of your country collapses (in 10 minutes at times sometimes leaving you 3 bases deep in enemy territory etc..  fun stuff..)

We had to adapt our tactics..  for one i felt no remorse flying the g10 under the circumstances and killing people in it.. and as such we adapted our tactics to just that..  fly latewar (fast) and more importantly disrupt the enemy's climbout as much as possible..  this means flying to wherever the enemy is upping from, either solo or with a wingman; and your whole purpose is to lower the enemy's alt with slashing attacks..  channel 1 (now 200) heckling thereafter and some more slashing attacks..

This would lower enemy attack alt (and morale when they start getting their k/d raped by our high alt vulching routine) at your defensive base by a average 3-4k ft when bad guys reach the target area allowing what few friendlies you have to mount a effective defense..

(10k - 3to4 k = effective defense... aka 6-7k attack alt..)

it was rather amusing to watch big pig planes (38 / 47's) dump all their ord after 1-2 passes on them..  and the brave ones who kept it on would usually bite the bullet after a quick saddle or blow all their alt/e to avoid you.. you then wep away to higher alts for safety and repeat over and over until they drive you out..  which is usually multiples trying climb on you then corner you...  way i see it if they are coming after me great they are not pilliging my base with bombs.. (and these were the old days, fuel porkage was rampant.. hence entire war fronts would collapse in 10 mins.)

if your team the bish would dispatch 2-4 fighters to each attacking airfield you might be surprised how much disruption you can cause to a attack conga..maybe enough to stall resets for 4-8hrs even against worse odds then you describe (we did it as rooks)

also look at it like this, almost every vet of the "Rook Invasion" can smoke 95% of the other pilots in this arena in a best of ten due to the chaos and mismatch you describe.. we were baptised by fire...  instead of quiting we got pissed off and organised because the alternative was getting our arse handed to us day in day out..  we chose to fight instead...  where do you think the rook tactical ops nights were spawned from..

DoctorYo

PS:  if the numbers continue slide against the BISH im shure some vets will gravitate to the target rich enviroment..(i would, bish still suck though
:p die bish die...  i just dont think its at critical mass just yet.. )

Falconwing and any other person that is tired or burned out with the Main Arena need to just get involved in the Special Events Arena.  Without the Special Events Arena I would have phased out my flying long ago.  Now I actually schedule my online time to attend the many Special Events offered, and my online time has been much more rewarding.  Check out this link for all the events.
http://events.hitechcreations.com/squadops/index.php
I would recommend Extreme Racing on Tuesday nights at 10:00 pm Eastern, and for the whole squad, The Squad Ops. event on Friday Nights 11:00 pm Eastern.  Make room for these special events, and you will be richly rewarded.  Look for the monthly KOTH event too.  Lots of fun there.
