I remember when base taking in AW was first introduced. That's when a fine flight sim degenerated into hording and land grabbing. That situation spawned the exact same set of arguments we are seeing now. It's the same with WB too.

AW did manage to limit the "capture the flag" hording in the FR arena: Each country had some untakeable airfields, so you could always take off and resist. And  part of some of the maps was designated as "Fighter town" where fighter pilots could furball to their hearts' content. Maybe Aces High could use some ideas like that.

For what it is worth, falconwing, I remember you from way back then. No one who has ever flown against you  would dare suggest that you were/are a dweeb under any circumstances. I remember killin you once, and you deserved it too, ya bastage! Then you went and spoiled my only victory over you by saluting me on the public channel. So a big to you, and your post too.

That aside you never know what HTC and crew might come up with next. For all we know B-29's and nukes! If yer country gets to short of folks you get nukes so you can send em back into the stone age. And maybe after that we can get the Atomic Cannon for those GV lovers!

LTAR is most definately a delightful bunch, we play for the Knights and have never moved to one of the other countries. The Knights always get along perfectly, taking turns on a target careful not tot get a kill-shooter. Wait our turn at the snack bar, we don't cut in line or use any foul or abusive language.

It's usually a tea party in the Knights camp as we all continue to strive for excellence and purity amoung the masses. We completely understand why you might feel just a bit gaurded about the decay of the Bishops and thier struggles to gain independence for the over-powering forces.

We don't know what it will take to help these poor souls, we would hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if it's a worn out pen light stolen from a Doctors office.
Same goes for that group called the Rooks. No one really knows why the Rooks are they way they are. Their just there, hanging on day after day, fight after fight.
Maybe it was their upbringing? Maybe it's because all the other countries constantly pick on them and now it's taking a toll? Maybe they got their lunch money stolen again
No one really knows, it's just the way things are. I honestly believe it's because their made to fly around in those silly little planes with that Rook symbol above their heads. Kind of like having to wear a dunce hat.  Oh well I guess some things are better left to sort themselves out rather than to start medaling into someone's affairs.

Well, gotta run the Knights are having another benefit dinner BBQ for all the Nit squads that have donated so much of their time become a better class of human and game player!

yanno, 95% of the time i'll be found not only on the side with lowest #'s but also in the sector with most slobberdonkeys.

but then i don't give a rat's bellybutton about "the war." i'm not saying the war doesn't have it's purpose, but... you gotta learn to find the battles that while you may not win, at least you'll have fun fighting.

once you see past the forest and spot the trees you'll have a much less ulcerated time in-game.

I agree with falcnwng here. You guys may call us whiners, but it does get kinda tiring
when everytime you up you got atleast 3-5 guys wanting to kill you. Yeah there isnt supposed to be 1v1 fights, but it just seems that like we're always outnumbered. Knits have most numbers. Then goes the rooks. Then the underdogs bish. couple days ago knits had 170 people rooks 140 bish 90 and knits eny was only 14.7. Something needs to be changed. Also couple days ago i seen rooks and knits at a bish field attacking it. Did they attack each other? Some did, some didnt. I myself remember being double teamed by a knit and a rook. Kinda weird if ya ask me. O.o

Think I will move to bish again for a few hours tonight, sounds like way too much fun.

The reason I chose Knits in the first place was that they were underdogs and 332nd mongrels went knits due to this reason.

Of course, times change.

Falconwing, the game has been built up around base taking, it's a part of the game, a damn fun part and even though I seldom do it I wouldn't wanna see it go away. If it did go away I might go away too.

As for bish being gangbanged, yeah you've had low numbers but I don't think you see anything else even though it may be there.
The other night I was alone as knit in a sector vs Bish, fighting off bish mission of about 15 P47's and a bunch of buffs together with a few other targets.

Bish may very well be getting gang banged but you're doing alot of gang banging aswell, chose your areas like shane says, chose your fights if you're tired of the gangbang. I am quite sure all the 50 bish (when very very low numbers) aren't spread out in 50 sectors.

first to bgbmaw....you barely merit this reply but i will say that bish have been ganged as long as i remember...and yes we didnot always have low numbers to go along with it but we always fought higher numbers.  im not sure if there is  a way to see how many times each country won and lost.  since you are the nerd pls enlighten me and lets go back and see over the last year how things have stacked up.  as for me i am a lala dweeb simply becuz i always fly into the tuff fights ...i dont get to enjoy the high alt cherry moves that are afforded by working with the numbers...i got to slice and dice and get that goon before it is too late...check my stats...should be p51s (porking) and la7 (defense)


To wil..i hear ya...but there was a real joy and lack of meaness when base taking was not the deal.  i probably have my rose colored glases on...but the fights back then were more alt-monkey accusations and b-n-z accusations =)

Hey Falc. I feel your pain. The 479th Raiders have made that move to Bish. My bigest problem is that the 2 countrys < who ever they be > Pick on the country with the least numbers. I could care less about Numbers if the 2 sides with them attacked each other also. But the game is based on taking bases and the Rush of Resetting the Map. So the side with the least numbers gets Ganged.
