I remember watching the TNG episode when he came back. Relics I think it was - was all about growing old and the perception of being less useful.

Scotty was a bit of a bigot, he didn't like Klingons drinkin in his bar. Guy would actually fight over it.

How many of the old crew are left? DeForrest Kelly (Dr. McCoy) died some years ago, and now Scotty's gone, but as far as I know, all the other major players are still alive.

Doohan and Kelly are the only ones that have passed away. Obviously Shatner is still kicking and active. I haven't seen much of any of the others in anything recently other than Nimoy's cameos on Shatners commercials.

There goes a cultural icon. He made the character Scotty as popular as it was. It wouldn't have been the same as someone else. ( i know... an obvious statement)
