I have to admit, the picked a good line for the intro screen for the newest patch, great to see some Civil War historians making their presence known.

Here is my favorite quote from a Civil War General:

"There is many a boy here today who looks on war as all glory, but, boys, it is all hell. You can bear this warning voice to generations yet to come. I look upon war with horror."
-General William Tecumseh Sherman

The odd part for me was that I have been reading about the
battle/campaign that he was killed in.

His troops called him "Uncle John".  They and Gen. Grant took
the news of his death very hard.

I don't think he was on a horse at the time.  He was kidding some
of his men about ducking when the rebs would shoot at them,
the rebs being too far away for a aimed shot.  The guess is that
a sharpshooter at about 800 yards with a scoped rifle got him.

"they could'nt hit an elephant at this dist........" he never finished
the sentance.

I was describing the scene from a decade old memory, so he may very well not have been on a horse and just trying to buck up the courage of his men.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Take a look at the first screen you get at the bottom of the clipboard, on the credits page sort of.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

Next one should be:

You'll still see the menu and the quote even if you change the splashscreen. The quotes are a fun part of the patches.
