...I sort of disappear quietly into the cement :)

I tried to gently belly my 109G10 into the runway and was, well...absorbed?

Read the update list.

Maybe you should read the update list, Ooz. I came in to a field deadstick, with gear damage. Tried to belly in nice and slow, popped as soon as I touched the runway. It's a P47, not a barrel of nitroglycerin. While I'm not a fan of the previous set up where 1 winged planes would land at 300mph, the idea that any gear damage is a lethal blow doesn't sit really well with me.

Yea, ditto, Hub.

I haul bombers a lot and its not unusal for the gear to be amongst the Missing In Action.

?

I was fighting an LA5 last night who bellied it and landed fine (on water).

Just tried this offline and belly landed a spit V on a runway no problem.

What are you guys talking about?

Hub, maybe you should use full flaps and belly land at minimum speed. Works for me every time.

I made a number of belly landings/ditches at a capped base yesterday. Never once crashed. Get your speed down to reasonable landing speed and lower flaps. No problem there. (Sorry about the kills rooks, you got enough vulches on me as it was - to the fight over 54)
