The P-47 of all models has been one of my fav planes for a long time now even before the N model apeared.  However, something has changed in each model that makes it not a great ride like it used to be (to me). I am hoping that it was just missed when the skins were made and will be fixed when brought to the designers attention.

I used to be able to sit up high in my seat to see over the big nose in order to make my deflection shots more accurate and just a better over all view. Last night I notice I can not sit up past the Sights glass any more. Surely someone else has noticed. Anyway, still a great plane for those who know how to fly it but can we get the "sit up in your seat" view fixed back to like it was. Most all other planes still sit up high when you want to. Thanks

The P47D40 you can raise your head higher to see over the nose for better deflection shooting.  The poster is saying you can no longer do this.  If this is the trend for all new introduced planes, maybe it's better?  In the Mossie deflection shooting is a joke because you can damn near stick your head out of the canopy.

IMO any plane that had a raisable seat in RL should get the option in AH, but only within the historical adjustment range. Maybe its just been overlooked in this release.

Welcome to the world of other planes :D

Seriously though, the same thing happaned to the 190's when they were updated for AH2 and it will happen to other planes I believe. Live with it :)

Well Greebo, I would tend to agree... but I'm 6'2' so I would expect to have them model my height into that seat also, over some 5'3' guy.

14.95 + a mugshot from your local police dept with height chart.

PS the F6 is the BALLS for deflections  shots. (shhh)

I agree with that assesment, however, being able to freely move up and down in the seat (changing the head position) should be limited. If your "Normal" seated position is at or near the default "home" position, it should not be so easy to just jump up and lean forward over the sight glass.

IRL, the pilot was most likely strapped in to some extent, and even if not, it's not like you could just physically pop up out of a pilot's bucket seat on a whim, especially for deflection shooting, which in most cases is done while pulling 2 or more Gs.

In some planes you can move your eye position right onto the edge of the cockpit. I think they remodeld the freedom to more appropiate lvls so you can no longer stick half of your head out of the cockpit glass.

The views seemd just fine to me.

" I'm 6'2' so I would expect to have them model my height"

I'm over  6' also and having sat in the cockpit of the NEAM P-47D bubble top I'd say that request borders on the ridiculous.

Unless you want HTC to model you as a 6"2" hunchback from having to scrunch your head and neck down so much so that you could fit into the cockpit with the canopy closed.

Ah.. westy, it was meant to be ridiculous, not border on it.

Now, do you feel better? Did it make you all fuzzy inside to try and make someone else look or feel stupid? If so, congratulations, dolt.

I just liked it better the way it has been for a long time and see no benifit to changing it. :aok
