Oh yes. If you are a crew then you can do that but still... You can trip and hit your head, get tangled up and taken under, get the boom in your nuggin or just loose your balance or slip overboard. Even the trip down below can seriously hurt you if you loose your footing.

I have seen a man snap his leg in two (sober) when getting his leg between two steps on the stairs from the cockpit and the galley. He went down face first and broke his lower leg and slammed his face on the "floor"

similar to the stairs in the background of this pic only there was no wall behind the steps. You can imagine how it happened... ewe

I saw a kid get hit so hard in the gut with the boom that his stomach ruptured.

Not a family trip this time. Delivering a 40 footer with three mates down to Arendal for the X-Yachts Gold Cup regatta. Boat belongs to an old shipmate of mine (harrr). Going together with another boat in the same class some of the way and we will make it a race.

Not gonna participate in the regatta myself but its gonna be a blast. Trip could be done in a couple of days or even in one stint but we have 8 days and we will use them all. First long trip with my friends since i got Mia so im really looking forward to this.

Hoping for lots of wind and little rain, the boat has little in the way of luxury but its fast. Just hope i we dont park it on some rocks ;)

Leaving all the gadgets behind except for the cellphone.

Wash down the poop deck and watch out for rogue Sea Men! Enjoy it Nilsen! Green with envy!

Best bet, don't drink while sailing any boat.

Have a good trip.

Put 'im in the bed with the captains daughter
Put 'im in the bed with the captains daughter
Put 'im in the bed with the captains daughter
Earl-eye in the mornin

Throw 'im off the bow and drag him down the keel,
Pull 'im up aft and lash him to the wheel,
The cat tells the tale of the drunken sailer
Earl-eye in the mornin.

Just a slightly meaner version.

HA!

Nilsen, someone let the kid on a laser in 35 knot winds.  It didn't help that the kid didn't know how to sail.
