no matter what happens in 2005, the 2004 red sox will go down as the most incredible story in baseball i think

Last year.

Most incredible I think is the 69 Mets.

Was an outstanding series though. and I rooted hard for them to beat the Yankees (I HATE the Yankees)

definately one of the best playoffs /world series I've seen in a while though

I liked the '86 series.  I know the Mets won, but who was it that lost again?

i wasn't around for the 69 mets, but in my lifetime i've never seen such an incredible comeback in sports. maybe the houston/buffalo game years ago,

they're releasing a dvd set of all the ALCS games. if anyone wants games 1-3, ill give em to ya.. but 4-7 are all mine!:D

honestly it wouldn't bother me if they didn't win the ws again in the next few years.. it'd be nice to see some other teams rise up to the top. (baltimore is starting to look good, obviously chicago is playing great this year, and i hope the twins do well too)

i just wish that my man derek lowe was pitching better in LA...

If memory serves correct the Mets were in something like last place at the All Star Break and just caught fire.
the big deal about them is prior to that they were basically the "Bad New Bears" of Baseball with their hilight reels being more like a comedy from the silent film era.

The entire 86 playoffs and series was a great one. alot like yours last year with the exeption of how it ended.
I thought Dykstra shoulda gotten team MVP. His balls to the wall play and never say die attitude saved there arse on more then one occasion.

Take em as often as you can get em.
Who knows. they may not win another in your lifetime.
Its happened before LOL

My favorite Series was 1963. I've always been a Yankees hater, and it felt SO GREAT to see the Dodgers, led by Sandy Koufax, sweep 4-0. They spanked the Yankees solidly, holding them to 4 runs - Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Tom Tresh, Whitey Ford, supposedly a "dominant" team.

I'm still gloating, 40+ years later :)

Yup..  the new stadium at Chavez Ravine. Don Drysdale, Sandy Koufax, Johnny Roseboro catching. Ron Fairly at First.. Maury Wills at short.. and Willy Davis in the outfield.

Koufax looked like he was pointing artillery with his foot..

..and Walter O'Malley was coach.

I prefered the one 3 years later when the Orioles did the same thing to the Dodgers..

a 19 year old Jim plamer out pitched Koufax and the Robinson twins (Frank and Brooks) kicked arse :)

Ahh, the prevent defense.  Frank Reich was the best backup QB ever.

On the subject of baseball, look for another long drough to be broken this year.  The Pale Hose are something special to watch this year.
