I don't recall where the rules say "if elected all politicians" must stay in DC on the job."
And what of the trips to Texas where he meets with foreign leaders? You count those against him too as "not working"? How many corporate deals get done on golf courses instead of formal offices? I can see where the Texas ranch provides a better atmosphere for meeting foreign heads of State.
As for how much money he spent, I'd prefer he spent less. How much less? Some. Do I think he should never go back to Texas? Nah, he can go back once in a while just for fun. All the President's in my lifetime that had a decent place to go to did that.
Cripes, Wasington suxxors. I don't blame ANY of them for wanting to be somewhere else. Bill Clinton made 133 visits to foreign nations, a Presidential record. That breaks down into an average of 16.6 nations visited per year, another Presidential record. We can probably extrapolate that he spent more than any other President traveling too.
I don't blame Bill though; he only had Arkansas to go to. No wonder he traveled more around the world than any other President.
And guess what... I'm not all het up and outraged about Bill's travel either.
