The only people I ever hear mention it are other players. Until I get some news from Hitech itself re ToD I'm assuming its a dream of those who are a little bored of the current game.

If Hitech were ever to tell me its on the way I might become a believer, until then I remain an atheist.:D

I guess you missed this from Pyro in the News Forum ...

"The office will be on Monday for Independence Day. We hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

Our programming efforts have been focused on ToD, however we are continuing with the plane upgrades and we’re getting close to putting out a release with these new upgrades. Version 2.04 will contain the graphics updates to the P-51s and P-47s. The skinner team has done an awesome job on these planes. We’ll have screenshots of these planes next week. A new P-47N will also be introduced. There won’t be much in 2.04 from a programming standpoint and new version development will continue in this fashion until Tour of Duty is finished. The next planes to be updated are the 109s and Spitfires.

ToD development is in full swing. We will soon have a ToD section up on our website and a new forum regarding ToD shortly after that. We appreciate your patience through the plan changes and delays with ToD. We are excited to finally see it coming together.

We’ve had our servers hosted with Savvis for quite awhile now but we’ve had some connectivity issues that we’ve been unable to get resolved and we’ve decided to try somewhere else. We’ve signed a contract with AT&T and will soon begin to move our servers. There will be some inconveniences during this move but will be conducting the move in pieces to keep the inconveniences to a minimum. We hope the end result will ease the frustrations felt by those of you who could not keep a good connection to our servers on a consistent basis."

LONG LIVE THE FURBALL!!! :aok

I wait because the gameplay in AH, or Warbirds or any of the MMOG flight sims is the same as it was in 1995.

I flew Warbirds every day for many hours back in 1995-1999. I had monthly bills for over $400 in those days of hourly rates. It was great. But it got old.

Graphics, flight models, planes.... all that have seen massive expansions. But gameplay has not. Once you are past the bling bling, its the same old thing I got tired of 5 years ago.

I fly IL2 online at hyperlobby now. Many of the servers offer a very realistic WWII mission scenario. While far from perfect, to me these IL2 full realism WWII mission based servers are more fun. Why? Because they offer MISSIONS that often count toward ongoing campaigns. Its not just a furball.

Tour of Duty sounds like the most amazing revolution to hit online flight sims since HT and crew threw the door open with Warbirds 10 years ago. I am very excited about it!

its an arena where toolshed battlers can get credit for battling toolsheds and get worshipped by less adept toolshed battlers.
