Well in the AH MA; as effective fighters; they don't.

But let's buck up; and accept the flattery that the AH system gives us:

The Spitfire is the best fighter of WWII!

There are wonderful choices back there in the "ENY 40" range...

the mini lala at 35, -1 hog, 205 and Ki-61 at 40. The B pony and the D11 jug...the 109F4 & FM-2 not to mention the hurricane (all of em).....

This "ENY" BS gets old (wait it IS old)....especially now with the 2 38s at 35 (if i remember right) for the J and 40 something for the G....plenty of stuff to fly in at any ENY....

I am still waiting for changes which will make the game fun again, and while I've seen steps in the right direction (Icon system revisions), the continued presence of ENY is just too much of a detriment.

Tempests, 262s, F4U4s, ..........  Maybe not trying to pork everything close so all your enemies not only have #s but alt too....  When trying to capture a base, not acting like you're inside Masada....  Oh the list goes on and on.

Riiight.

Lot of RAF choices in that list, Humble.

Still; at least we now have HTC's confirmation that the Spitfire is more leathal than any LW ride or my little pony......

Yup, all those Spitfires escorting bombers to Berlin and Tokyo were the turning point in the war.

No doubt it was one of the best, but several other planes have a better claim to "best of the war" than the Spit.

Last I checked the hurricane was RAF....BTW the british flew the -1 hog and F6F as well. Not to mention a couple of flavors of the P-40....

I'd kill for the RAF version of the F6F, 4 50s + 2 hazookas! I'd even accept a moderate perk on that nasty bird.

HTC, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, when you re-do the F6F can we get this version?

Did you confuse "fighter" with "Can fly really far?"

B17s could fly to Berlin too.  Does that make them the best fighter?

If B17's were like they are in AH, a flight of them could fly to Berlin and back and gun down about 100 German aircraft on the way... so yeah, B17 was teh best fighta evah!
