No Brakes!!!
« on: August 03, 2005, 09:22:52 AM »
I don't appear to have brakes anymore.  This has occured in the last one or two patches.  You should be able to hold a P-38 with one engine maxed out (I have demo video of this courtesy of the Tillimook Air Museum, OR).  I've checked the mapping of my keyboard and it's definately the space bar.  I've tried pressing and releasing (thus pulsing) with negative results.  I've tried pulsing fast, and slow, no difference.  I've been working my ground taxing the last few weeks without brakes since it makes no difference.  This is a major disadvantage in the Air Races.  Please help.

I'll give that a go.  I'm just hoping nobody tells me I need to cross my eyes and put one leg in the air to make this work.  Glad I don't have to drive my car like this.  Thanks.

I've tried using the C&V as suggested.  My planes just roll and roll and roll.  Keyboard mapping is correct.  Does anyone have brakes that work?

Try changing the mapped keys to something else to see if they work.

perhaps it has to do with the fact that some keyboards have issues when you try to press two or more keys at the same time

Hopefully will be taken care of.

All the best.

Remapped the keys....no difference.  Can't brake one wheel or the other to even make slight turns.  Pressing the space bar break key (when remapped) does nothing.  The above post didn't really state there was a fix for this.   ????   Keyboard also works fine when pressing multiple keys at once, I can look up AND back on my number pad.  Done a few tests, braking and not braking stops plane in same distance.  Still need help!!

CC brakes work but are verry weak.
It was some patches ago when they made the breaks work better but then all the planes self destructed when standing still.

So instead of fixing the bug they made the breaks softer again. Bettbe be able to fly and rearm than to have strong breaks. I must agree the breaks seem to be pretty weak but until they fix the bug that you self destruct on the runway with normal breaks i prefer to have weak breaks.

I never had the problem with self destructing when braking before the patch.  Does "soft" brakes equal "no" brakes?
