I'm planning a trip to Russia with the family to see my In-laws, some time in November; I usually make a few day trips to Moscow with my Bother-in-law.
Maybe a Beer/vodka toast would be in order when I'm there?
Anybody going to be around then?

Can you recommend anything to do,
I've seen Lenin, the crown jewels, the history museum.

Just bring yourself to Moscow before November 7. We'll teach you how to celebrate the annuversary of Great October Revolution. BTW did you try Georgian cook? If not, ask Wolfala, now he know few places with perfect cook. And remember, Stalin was georgian ;-)

My Moscow phone is 109-6453. Same number for SMS and international calls is +79015196453

What place do you go to (you said you'll be in Msk only "on trip" if I understood you correctly)?

The only problem is that I may be away in November, I plan to visit my Mom in Australia, but nothing is arranged so far :(

We have some nice military historical museums, but "open air" exhibitions are usually covered by snow in November :(

The heating never goes on before January lol. December is still pretty easy usually. Russia might be worse though. We have the golf stream atleast.

I remember a year (1999 IIRC) when we didn't have permanent snow until late December, was raining and around 0+5C. And on some years we have first snow in late September, permanent snow since early October...

In 2003 we had warmest February in 300 years. It never got colder then -3C, some days it was up to +10... I almost believed in "global warming".

Here in Moscow central heating goes on usually in mid-October until late April.

Actually it was funny in a way. I was over there with my girlfriend Eva for new years hanging out with Pavel and Estel - and it was 20 * warmer then New York city the entire time.

That is about the same as in Central Texas, Boroda.  I guess the difference is that the air conditioning is used almost as much during the same period.
