Well, my nirvana has come!

I work as an Editor-in-Chief for a gaming site and since E3 I've met some great PR people from Saitek and CH. Now it has paid off.

Currently Saitek has sent me an X52 brand new and I used it a lot. Now they sent me an Evo, ST290, and ST90. CH will be sending me their HOTAS as well.

I'm a great reviewer, I know where quality is and where it isn't, what gamers want and all.

I hope that when I'm done reviewing these sticks, I will post them so that any new pilots that need advice on them, they can clearly see it!

tell saitek to put the X45 spring on the X52 and give the x52 throttle rotors like those on the x45

tell them not all of us have 11 year old girl wrist and forearm strength .. thanks

I like the feel of the spring on my X45 except that it feels sticky and creaks. Is there some way to loosen the tension on the stick? The throttle has a tension adjuster but I see nothing on the stick :(

zip ties, and silicone grease is a saiteks best friend.

the st290 pro isnt a bad stick for a cheapy,
nose bounce is at min ... but it fires too rapidly .. and if you hit /use the center button for sec fire .. the buttons beside it activate also ... had to unmap my flaps it was so bad .

found wax paper cut to fit around bottom of cup (btwn cup bottom and top of base) to work the best

also try turning the spring, sometimes helps me

filing down the top of the spring where it is cut at the factory stopped the creeking and made for a more smooth rudder action on the X52 . That lip on the top of the spring actually digs into the plastic of the base of the stick .. 38

Only.... CH = $150.00 for stick and throttle (or $200 if you're gouged), and then another $150.00 to $200.00 (depending where you buy) for rudder pedals.

That's $300.00 to $400.00 for basic flight input. If I had it I'd love it. but I'm stuck with an gameport MS Precision Pro for now. $20.00 off e-bay.

So buy a gameport CH rig and spend less than $100 for the same thing.  They are still out there.

Still too expensive, considering I splurged a li'l to order some upgrade parts for my P3 650MHz

EDIT: I've heard there are some issues with the center point on CH pedals that use gameport (instead of USB) -- and as I type this I just remembered I only have 1 gameport and my stick's in that (can't use a gameport to USB adapter, I tried :( )

I guess I have crap luck with hardware lol!

You should be able to run the peds to the USB port with an adapter and there is software at CH for doing it.

BUT the analog peds should have a pass through on em for the analog stick?????

Thinkin you will lose some of the buttons on the stick if you use XP??????

I had a set of old CH Pro pedals and used an adapter, you don't need software. XP recognizes the adapter/pedals and I forget what it calls it but will supply the driver. You can calibrate it in AH like any other controller.  My pots were gimped from sitting in the closet for years, took the pedals apart and couldn't put em back together :(
Chucked the scrambled mess in the dumpster.
