Penalty what penalty?

Also a question about a kill scoring.  If you as a pilot do not make it back to concrete and get sucessful landing message does that
mean you count as a kill? I'm a bit confused between Webtreatz showin no death but Innomi shows it as death. Landed at gv base when ran out of fuel, just missed concrete and was messaged as ditch.

Okay, when we talley up the scores we don't use the two sites that you listed, we use the Raw logs.   I went back and looked, you landed successfully.

 7-30-05 / 00:49:02 / doobs / End Flight / Landed 7 / III./JG44 Night Hawks

I don't know why Innomi's site does that, it shows the death instead of the bail.  I will have to look into that for you. But to answer you question, we don't use either sites.

As for the Pentalty... Well, there were pilots that upped 3 or 4 times and got kills in those sorties.  This has happened before and this is the protocol we follow.

And what happens to offending squad? I know my guys aren't too happy to lose that way. And I know it must sux for the allied who had there night ended earlier than it should.

As for what happened to the offending squad .. I researched the claim that reupped after dying. 4 out of 6 members of the squad reupped and flew and engaged in air to air combat again.

I sent them a letter about and put them on probation for the next two frames. After discussing with Stream he assessed a 200 point penalty.

In FSO if you ditch or do not get a sucessfull landing you are 10 points for the other side thats the way I always took it. So if your in combat people can not ditch to avoid being shot down.

But what about people who try and hotpad and bend a prop, or hit building at hotpad and damage plane to where it cant reup but pilot can get out. happens every week just about.

And I believe webtreatz shows the attacker getting the named kill even if the attacked  pilot ditched.

Just want to be clear on what to tell squad.

there have been times in the past where fuel shack crashes and such would be reported to the host CM and he'd look into it.  He could then validate the claims and the admin Cm could take it into account when scoring.

That hardly seems right to me, when I fly FSO, I try to fly as if it were real (to a certain extent). I wouldnt mind seeing a point system where ditching and bailing would be rewarded as opposed
to a death or capture. I dont think I need to explain why. Maybe only 5 for a bail or ditch, 10 for captured or killed. It'd be like 5 points for the aircraft loss and five points for pilot loss.

what he said......

I'm also alittle nervous to tell squad in fear that once slightly banged up in the Air, they will auger and go back to ma.
since it wont make a difference on the point total.

Think Dace has right idea.  I don't think ya should be penalized 10 points, if ya just spent half an hour nurseing your plane back
to base and couldn't quite keep it on the runway. It's no different than if ya land a banged up bird and get sucessful landing, plane is unflyable and lost but since it made concrete its a sucessful landing. no penalty for that.

Bailing out is bailing out both pilot and plane are done.
Ditch a plane away from friendly airfield both pilot and plane are done.  But I think consideration should be taken if a pilot gets a ditch trying to land at a friendly field. The plane is recovered to be repaired and the pilot is back at friendly base.

As I said it depends on the CM and the event. But normally points are rewarded for kills.

So if your plane is dinged by enemy bullets and you crash or bail the other side usually gets a kill credit. If you ditch in many cases the other side is not given a kill credit .. unless the CM has decide otherwise.

Usually in the case of limited plane types we CMs keep track of the ditches. Case in point .. if me262 on the German side ditches well the plane probably will be ruled out of commission for the rest of the frame. But as I said depends on the CM.

So yes, it is more than worthwhile to nurse a plane home. If the person augers you absolutely give the other side the points because a kill has been credited (assuming the augering pilot took some battle damage). If you can nurse the plane home .. no points to the other side.
